Hampton Court is situated 13 miles southwest of London on the north bank of the River Thames.  It is possible to go for half a day but for a complete experience a full day is preferable.  Why not make the journey there part of the adventure?  Arrive at the palace by boat just like king Henry VIII.  During the warmer seasons boats run from Richmond to Hampton Court.

article image Hampton Court was England's most significant palace of the Tudor age.  It was transformed from a medieval manor into a palace fit for king Henry VIII.  Over the years the buildings were greatly altered by different monarchs and Queen Victoria opened it to the public in 1838.  Your Blue Badge Guide will show you the contrasting faces of Hampton Court as well as the beautiful Palace Gardens.  Here you can happily discover the famous maze, which was planted in the North Gardens in 1702.
